Writing is a skill that someone uses for their entire life. Even with the advent of technological assistance, it is still as crucial as ever that we as a society strive for literate and capable writers. This 3 week class is crafted around the client’s needs. Whether it be writing a 5 paragraph essay for English, a lab report for Science, or even writing a resume to look for work, this class is for you!

Having high levels of reading comprehension is a valuable asset that allows an individual to set themselves apart from the masses. Strong reading skills inherently makes life easier, so that is what this course seeks to accomplish! This 3 week course is crafted to best suit the clients needs. Whether it be to better understand and synthesize information or simply read for fun, this is the class to take if your student to work on their reading skills or media literacy.

Have you ever wanted to build a device that could use the energy of the sun to distill your water? This is called a Solar Distiller, and it is just one of the many Labs I have planned for this class! Students who take this class will build their critical thinking and problem solving skills through the studying and creation of fun yet educational projects. Those who take this class can also expect to get a step by step tutorial on the scientific method, as understanding this will be one of the core learning outcomes. A quick disclaimer, this course may cost more due to the need to purchase materials for the lab, however If the parents already have some of the materials, this cost is negotiable.

Math is hard, we all know this. Sometimes, even though work is offered in school, students need extra help on specific concepts, and that is why this class exists. If you are struggling in Math and want to hone your skills, or even if you just love math and want to see how fun it can be, than this Lab is for you! There are two goals for this course. One, to provide specialized and expert assistance to students who need to brush up on their skills or knowledge in math. This is accomplished through drills, custom made work sheets and quizzes to gauge progress. Secondly, the purpose of this lab is to bring fun back to Mathematics! To do this, I plan to do some fun math based projects as well, such as using tessellations to prove Pythagorean Theorem, or even something more hands on such as using toy cars to explore measuring!
